This is one of the two courses you will be taking this semester at the LAAL, and it will provide a hands-on pedagogical experience on participatory action research (PAR). I want to frame this course as a workshop where we all will learn from each other and where your three co-instructors will be a guide and point of reference rather than lecturers. Throughout the semester you will work with your community partners to design, implement, and share the results of your Action Lab research project. In this project-based class, students and faculty fellows will work in teams with a Hartford community partner to address research questions and develop solutions to a community need that was proposed by a community organization.
