This course examines the functions of learning and memory through neuroscience. The goals of this class are to help you develop evidence-based skills for classroom learning, understand and appreciate research on the biology and psychology of learning and memory, and to apply theories discussed in class to understand human behavior.
To achieve this goal, the following course objectives have been identified. You will:
1. Implement evidence-based practices for effective note-taking and studying
2. Differentiate between the many unique psychological processes of memory and learning
3. Discover the molecular and structural components of the brain that underlie these processes
4. Apply this new knowledge to understand key stages of human development, disorders of memory, and learning disabilities
